如何理解SAT考试作文命题原则

近年来高考作文命题成为了社会关注度很高的一个话题。高考作文已经不再是一道考试的题目，而是成为了整个社会的一种风向标，指向了各种社会热点话题、当下社会矛盾等一系列实质性的社会焦点内容。

其实作为美国高考的SAT(Scholastic Assessment

Test)，命题方CollegeBoard对于作文的命题也是非常之重视，就近几年的SAT作文题目来看，与当时的美国热点社会问题，年轻人的切身情况都是有具体联系的。所以我们可以看出，虽然两国在教育的体质和方法上有不少差异。

但是对于作文这一科目的考试的命题原则上，中美两国的教育界还是相当一致的。

2012年1月：

Should we treat people according to what they are capable of achieving

instead of what they actually have done?

我们应不应该根据人们所取得的成果来对待他们而不是看他们做了些什么?

2012年5月：

Do advertisements contribute to people's unhappiness and

dissatisfaction?

广告会引起人们的不快和不满意吗?

2012年6月：

Should people respect and tolerate everyone's opinions, or should people

take a stand against opinions they consider to be wrong?

人们应该尊重和容忍每个人的观点，还是应该有人反对他们认为是错误的观点?

2012年10月：

Do all people need creativity?

是不是所有的人都需要创造力?

2012年11月：

Are people too serious?

是不是现在的人们都太严肃了?

2012年12月：

Is there really much more for people to invent and discover in the world

today?

现在是不是真的在世界上还有更多东西等着人们去发明和发现?

2013年写作题目

2013年1月：

Is it necessary for people to imitate others before they can become

original and creative?

人们真的需要模仿别人之后才能成为原创吗?

Is money the most significant factor in determining a person's quality of

life?

金钱是决定一个人生活质量的最重要因素吗?

Is popular culture the strongest influence on a young person's

identity?

流行文化对一个年轻人影响最大的是什么?

Should people change their behavior depending on what situation they are

in?

人们应该根据他们所处的情况来改变自己的行为吗?

2013年5月：

Is preparing for the future more important than enjoying the present?

为未来做准备是不是比享受现在更重要?

2013年6月：

Do people need to know the source of any information before they use

it?

人们是否需要在他们使用信息前知道它的来源?

2013年10月：

Does having too much information about public figures distract us from the

important issues?

是不是有太多关于公众人物的信息扰乱了我们关注其他重要的事情?

2014年写作题目

2014年1月：

Should we hold on to the old ones when we have certain innovations or just

move forward?

当我们有了正确的改革方向的时候，我们应该秉持旧的观念还是继续向前迈进?

2014年5月：

Are people who stay in the same community happier than those who move from

one place to another?

在同一块区域生活的人是否比移居到别地的人更快乐呢?

2014年11月：

Should we complain to get what we want?

我们是否应该通过抱怨来得到我们想要的?

2014年12月：

Can people who are not famous be better role model than people who are

famous?

是不是不出名的人比名人更适合作为榜样?

2015年写作题目

2015年1月：

Can people have too much enthusiasm?

人们能不能有太多的热情?

Is it courageous to show vulnerability or to show strength?

是否有勇气展示自己的弱点或者强项?

2015年3月：

Can works of art change our lives?

艺术能改变我们的生活吗?

Will self-discipline take the pleasure of life?

自律是否会带走生活的乐趣?

2015年6月：

Do people need to spend less time to appreciate him or her?

人们是否需要花更少的时间去欣赏他人?

可以看出的是，几乎所有的题目都是疑问句，这也是SAT作文命题的一个原则，希望学生给出自己的立场，并且将自己的立场和想法书写下来以供他人可读。虽然是一句很简单的高度总结，但是其中对于中国考生的难度可想而知。

1. 题目源自生活，你是否有这样的生活经历或者思考过这类现实问题

2. 是否懂得如何总结与概括自己的想法，并且以清晰恰当的文字描绘出自己的想法

3. 是否有过硬的英语实力呈现出你的想法
