These years, education experts have done numerous research on whether studying in groups helps improve students’learning efficiency.Compared with individual study, I personally believe that it is far more beneficial to students when working insmallgroups.

To begin with, working in a group for certain tasks can be highly productive for students since it can help students to study more effectively and get exposed to real-world issues.If students are categorized into small groups to finish a project,they would solve complex issues together, such as doingresearch on the restoration of historical buildings of acity and investigatingthe water quality of the local town. These tasks allow students to understand some complicated public issues and serious problems the world is facing which they otherwise barely have a chance or awareness to contemplate. Besides, collaborative learning and group projects are far more effective in helping students to develop useful academic skills than traditional teacher-led teaching approach. By carrying out group tasks, students can acquire the method of collectingand analyzingdata from multiple sources on a scientific and objective basis, which is a fundamental ability for academic study in any field.

Secondly,working in groups has much deeper implications beyond students' academic experience. More specifically, it helps to develop qualitieslikethe sense ofcooperation, organization and leadership. When learning in a group, every single individualgets a chance to contribute their knowledge to the group, they can learn to appreciate the work of others. What's more, they have to work closely with group membersfor the same goal. More importantly, students will be exposed to different perspectives and at the same time learn how to accept different points of view and find common ground in this process. Such an educational experience will not only be helpful for their future study but also beneficial to them when they have to deal with coworkers, clients, and teammates in a professional setting in the future.

In conclusion, studyingtogether in a group has far more positiveimplications than studyingalone since collaborative learning helps students to learn much more effectively and develop important skills that are vital for their future study and career.
