选项分析：

have previously thought

【错误】 主谓一致：动词“suggests”的主语是“a surge in new home sales and a drop……”，其核心词为“a

surge and a drop”，是一个复数概念，因此主谓不一致。

(C)claims suggest that the economy might not be as weak as have been

previously thought by some analysts

【错误】 主谓一致：“have been previously thought”的逻辑主语是“economy”，主谓不一致。

(D)claims, suggesting about the economy that it might not be so weak as
