实例题目：

In no other historical sighting did Halley’s Comet cause such a worldwide

sensation as did its return in 1910–1911.

(A) did its return in 1910–1911

(B) had its 1910–1911 return

(C) in its return of 1910–1911

(D) its return of 1910–1911 did

(E) its return in 1910–1911

选项分析：

(A)did its return in 1910-1911

【错误】 比较结构：“its return in 1910-1911”和“Halley's Comet”两者并不可比。

(B)had its 1910-1911 return

【错误】 比较结构：见(A)。

(C)in its return of 1910-1911

【正确】 正确使用了“as”引导的比较句式，补齐省略部分，还原部分倒装后，比较结构应为“In no other historical sighting

Halley's Comet caused such a worldwide sensation as in its return of 1910-1911

(Halley's Comet caused a worldwide sensation)”。本质上是两个同为“Halley's Comet caused a

worldwide sensation”的主谓结构在不同的状语下(“in no other historical sighting”和“in its

return of 1910-1911”)进行比较。

【大意】 在其他任何历史情境下，哈雷彗星造成的全球轰动也比不上它在1910-1911年的回归中造成的轰动。

【错误】 比较结构：无法上无法确定“its return in 1910-1911”在和前半句“In no other historical

解题思路：

本题考察的唯一考点是比较结构中的比较句式，比较句式的本质是两个发生省略的平行可比的主谓结构进行比较。本题只有(C)选项构建了正确的比较句式，如果补全省略内容，改为正常语序后整句话为“In

no other historical sighting Halley's Comet caused such a worldwide sensation as

(Halley's Comet caused) in its return of

1910-1911”括号中的主谓结构是比较结构中的第二项，由于和第一项内容基本相同，所以被省略了。所以本题实际上比较的是“哈雷彗星”在“other

historical sighting(其他历史环境下)”和“哈雷彗星”在“它1910-1911的回归地球”的历史环境下，其造成的“轰动”的比较，“In no

other historical sighting”和“in its return of

1910-1911”分别参与比较的两个主谓结构的时间状语。其他选项中“its return in 1910-1911”要么在和“Halley's

Comet”直接比较(排除(A)、(B)、(D))，要么不知和谁在比(排除(E))，没能建立准确合理的比较关系。
