can hardly be said that it is their fault: Alvin Toffler, one of the most

prominent students of the future, did not even mention microcomputers in Future

Shock, published in 1970.

(A) That educators have not anticipated the impact of microcomputer

technology can hardly be said that it is their fault

(B) That educators have not anticipated the impact of microcomputer

technology can hardly be said to be at fault

(C) It can hardly be said that it is the fault of educators who have not

选项分析：

(A)That educators have not anticipated the impact of microcomputer technology

can hardly be said that it is their fault

【错误】 句子结构：“that it is their

fault”本意想做“said”的宾语，表示“说”的内容，但“said”本身是被动形式，无法连接宾语，因此从句“that it is their

fault”既不做主语，也不做宾语，更不会做其他成分，因此是一个“孤立”的从句。

【错误】 句子意思：“That”引导的从句“can hardly be said to be at

fault”(“不能说有过失”)语义不搭配，一个从句所讲的的一件事无法与“at fault”(“有过失”)搭配。

【错误】 句子意思：“The fact that……”是在用“that”引导的名词性从句作“the fact”的同位语，表达“the

fact”的内容，这本身就是多此一举的。不仅如此，由日常逻辑可知，本句的本意是“不能说教育家有没能预期微型电脑技术的影响的过失”，因此“that

educators are

technology”并不是一个“fact”(“事实”)。

解题思路：

(A)中“can hardly be said that”句子结构有问题，因此可以当作必错搭配排除。

(B)中语法上“can hardly be said to be said at

fault”的逻辑主语是“that”引导的从句，句意不合理，排除。

(C)中“it is the fault……”中的“it”无所指代，排除。(E)中“the fact that……”表意不合理，排除。

因此选择(D)。
