2020年12月5日 雅思大作文题目
More government investment should be on the teaching of science than any
other subjects in order to keep a country’s development and progress.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
(重复2016年1月9日)
范文及解析
01、Can you imagine a world without science? That must be unthinkable for
any country. Should science subjects then be the only focus of government
investment in education? I can hardly endorse this.

02、To achieve an appreciable national prosperity, science education could
not be more important. It is believed that with more funds invested in these
curricula, there would be morein-houseelites in the fields of electronics,
telecommunication, robotics, medicine, to name but a few. Who these elites are,
are meritorious people to European countries and the United States in industrial
revolutions, helping them leapfrog rungs on the development ladder. Besides,
well-educated people on science, in most cases, are more visionary, who are more
likely to be participative in the development of their nation.

承:肯定the teaching of science的合理之处
论证:举例印证理科人才对典型的贡献
03、However, for advance to happen, the investment on other subjects must
also go hand in hand. This is because pragmatically speaking, arts and
humanities can also offer benefits to a country, tangible or intangible,
culturally or artistically. Without History, a subject introducing past
achievements, how could the sense of belonging be strengthened and thus the
country be united? And without designers, the face of a city would be a mess. At
this point, all liberal arts disciplines, as the basic requisites, instill sound
values in citizens and equip them with abilities to perfect the country.
解析
转:本段扣准“其他学科与发展进步”
论证:反面烘托文史哲学科的必要性
04、In light of the above, with science disciplines, indeed, a country can
harvest huge benefits. However, if government funds went to them exclusively,

the country would not develop in an all-round way. To avoid this, it is strongly
discouraged to exclude subjects of liberal arts and humanities from the national
investment list.
