* 表格，选自《剑桥雅思真题集10》

阅读提示：

* 当然是要看词汇(老章用不同颜色或高亮标出了)。遇到不会的或者你觉得好用的，去查、记、用。

* 更重要的是看明白老章写作的内容思路(对于图表中信息的取舍和组织)。

* 同时，不可忽略句子之间的联系，留意老章是怎么建立这些联系的。

内容思路：

* 下笔之前，通过找异同(similarities and differences)确定分组(groups)：

* coffee项目中，5个国家都是2004年的销售额比1999年的销售额高，但是可以分为1)高出不多的，和2)高出许多的。

bananas项目中，1)有3个国家是2004年的销售额比1999年的销售额高，和2)另外2个国家是2004年的销售额不比1999年的销售额。

Introduction(介绍图表的主题)

Shown in the tables are the sales of fair-trade labelled coffee and bananas

in five European countries, and the statistics are from 1999 and 2004.

* 老章通常是把题目中的一句话拆成两个分句来写，避免单句的冗长和繁琐。

Body(遵循之前确定的“内容思路”来写)

In all the five countries, the sales of coffee were higher in 2004.

However, the growth in Denmark and Sweden was negligible. By marked contrast,

the increase in the UK was enormous and most notable. Apparently, selling coffee

became a sizeable business, as the UK’s sales saw a surge to 20 million euros

compared with the year of 1999. Switzerland and Belgium also witnessed obvious

growth, as their sales figures in 2004 are twice or almost twice of the 1999

figures.

* 第 一句话是总写。

* 第二句话开始是分写。但是第二句话正好可以和第 一句话之间建立一个转折关系。

* 第三句话与第二句话之间形成一个对比关系。正好这里就切分了1)高出不多的，和2)高出许多的。

* 第四句话是对第三句的补充和进一步说明。选择写the UK是有道理的，因为the UK是老章认为的main feature。

* 第五句话把表格中剩余的部分写完。

* 整个段落中，虽然覆盖了整个表格的内容，却并没有处处纠结数值具体是多少。老章这种“模糊写法”是处理写作内容的关键技巧之一。

In terms of bananas, the sales multiplied in three countries – Switzerland,

the UK, and Belgium, and dropped by half in the rest two countries. it is worth

noting that Switzerland had a 32-million increment, which is quite impressive,

and that Belgium started from scratch and achieved a 4-million scale.

第 一句话直截了当、果断干脆的说明了分组：1)有3个国家是2004年的销售额比1999年的销售额高，和2)另外2个国家是2004年的销售额不比1999年的销售额。

* 第二句话写老章看到的main features。

Conclusion(总结表格中数字的宏观特点)

In general, 2004 was the better year for the sales of fair-trade coffee and

bananas.

* 全文要么在开头段要么在结尾段，必须有对于表格中的宏观总结。

全文总结：

* 小作文不要洋洋洒洒写太多词。老章从来都是控制在180词以内。

* 尤其注意文章的结构。
