neighbors to make sure the safety of you house when you are away.

Dear Sam，

I would really appreciate your kindness if you promise to help me make sure

the safety of my house when I am away. I am going to California tomorrow. My mum

is seriously ill, so I need to go there to take care of her. I am so sorry I

have to leave in a great hurry, and I will leave my key with you. For your

convenience, I would like to tell you exactly what you need to do.

As you know, this is an old house and its beams are cracked with age. When it

rains, the leaking roof may be a problem. In case it rains, since there’s no

better solutions, I request you to fetch a bucket to catch the drops. Besides,

the pipes and power lines of the house are also aging seriously, although I

asked the maintenance staff to inspect and maintain them last week, I am still

not sure whether something would be wrong again. Hence, I hope you could help me

check the pipes and lines every day to ensure safety. If there’s any problem,

you could call the maintenance and ask him to replace the pipelines. By the way,

if you advance the maintenance cost on behalf of me, please let me pay the bill

after I am back.

If everything goes smoothly, I will stay there for about a week, and then

return on 23rd July. I’m sorry for the inconvenience, and once again I’d like to

thank you for your kindness.
