When I was insenior high school, I won a knowledge contest about Chinese ancient literaturewith my classmate. This prize left a deep impression on me. It was conductedand organized by our Chinese teacher, through the first round of selection, meand a good friend and classmate of mine were both selected. I was reallyexciting that I negotiated to the second round, more importantly, I was groupwith my best pal. It can’t be delightful for me, because we finally can dosomething great together and our abilities were proved too. However, since wemade to the second round, we were faced with great pressure cuz we are going tocompete with all the best students in other major. As science students, we werein bad situation(处于劣境) compared to those who majored in liberal art. What’s more, the contest was held 2 days after the monthly exam. Therefore we had to make time(挤出时间) to prepare. To improve efficiency, we made a detailed division. This contest was composed of three parts: the writtentest, lectures and quick response questions. I was responsible for collectingdata and learning by heart(熟记,背熟么memorize)while she was to prepare the speech. Everymorning, we will have a short discussion about today’s plan and the progresswe’ve done so far. In such a flicker of time(时间过得飞快,一转眼 time goes fast), the competition day came. Thewritten test was such a cake road that nearly everyone got full marks. Byvirtue of(凭借,依靠depend on) an exquisitely and carefullyprepared speech, my friend gave a marvelous performance. Finally, the most heart-beatingpart came. It was my turn to act my part. My hands trembled and when I saw awhole hall of alumni staring at me, I almost got my tongue tight(舌头打结). But when the host started to read the questions, the previous anxiety and timidity was gone and I began to focus onthe question, thanks god I finally answered one third of the total question scorrectly. Needless to say, we triumphed. With this cheerful and gloriousvictory, I brought the honor to our class and strengthen my friendship with mybest pal. After years, when we look back, we will still wear a smile on faceand talk about the details ceaselessly.
