【雅思口语Part2】Describe a movie you would like to watch again3

When and where you watched it

Who you watched it with

And explain why you would like to watch it again.

When it comes to the foreign films I’ve watched, a substantial number of movies flash through my mind, however, the one that impressed me most was Pearl Harbor starring Ben Affleck, Josh Hartnett and Kate Beckinsale. I saw Pearl Harbor in a history class at the age of 15. This film, using the Second World War as background, describes a poignant(凄美的 beautiful) love story between the three leading characters. Featuring spectacular scenes and an amazing plot, Pearl Harbor turned out to be my favorite film (我的最爱 the one I love the most). The attention of the whole class was pinned to the screen, the emotion varied with the shots. We were elated (兴高采烈的 very happy and excited) while a party was conducted during the film; we became gloomy when death occurred where we did not expect; we were thrilled after the hero dug himself out of a difficult situation (脱离险境 get out of a difficult situation).

There is no adequate amount of praise for the shocking battle scenes and astonishing plots. For instance, to avenge the sudden attack of the Pearl Harbor, President Roosevelt decided to copy (效仿) the way the Japanese army had attacked them. He ordered the air force to plan and implement a confidential military strike that abruptly struck Tokyo, the capital of Japan. You can imagine how hazardous this mission was and how amazing the shots of the attack were. Finally, the ending of the film was out of the ordinary but completely understandable, only one of the two heroes survived gaining the love of the heroine.

This is my favorite foreign film, which not only presents me with a visual feast buten riches my historical knowledge. Ultimately the arrogant Japanese set the Americans against them after their attack and this eventually gave rise to their failure. As Francis Bacon put it, “history makes men wise.” From this historical event,I’ve learned that pride goes before a fall while modesty helps one to make progress.
