Task：

There are more new towns nowadays. It is more important to include public

parks and sports facilities than shopping centers for individuals to spend their

free time. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Sample answer：

In my opinion, compared to shopping centers, parks and recreation facilities

are far more important because they give us a relief to urban living.

Firstly, parks with sports facilities are places that can help us get fit. In

the past,people lived simpler lives but today many of us suffer from

stress-related illnesses such as obesity, heart disease and high blood pressure

due to the competition in all walks of life. Yet, recent studies have shown that

people who go to parks or exercise at least three times per week tend to remain

healthier. As a result, this will help lead to reduction in stress and lowered

blood pressure and improve one's quality of life.

Moreover, people go to parks because they can bring us environmental

benefits.Not only are they beautiful to look at, but parks with lakes and

wildlife areas increase our appreciation for the natural environment. Take Hyde

Park for example, it is home to over 1000 species of birds and provide habitat

for animals.

The trees and other plants help filter out pollutants and freshen the

air.Therefore, many people go to parks for 2 peace of mind.

However,shopping has become a favorite pastime for many Consumers.Shoppers

not only crowd into covered shopping centers and malls to buy products but

combine this activity With other options like drinking coffee,watching movies

etc. For this reason it is seen as a good way to spend your day.

In conclusion, although shopping can be fun, parks and sports facilities give

people an opportunity to connect with a healthy and natural life and is

therefore more significant.
