Task:
Describe a way you keep fit or healthy
:
what this is
How often you do this
who you often do this with
and explain why you think this is good.
Sample answer:
I'm going to describe a way that I do to keep fit, currently, which is
swimming. I used to swim a lot when I was younger, but I've recently taken it up
(重操旧业) again , and I go a couple of times a week now.
I go swimming in a gym that I joined, which has a nice swimming pool. I tried
going to my local public pool ( 当地的公共泳池 ),but it was too busy and you couldn't
really swim up and down in nes ( 在泳道里自由发挥 ) there. So , 1 found a gym that has a
pool, and it's usually quite empty, and I can have a lane to myself( 单独的泳道 ) and
swim up and down.
As I said , I do this hobby or activity alone. I don't go there with
anyone;it's a solitary sport ( 一项孤独的运动 ) really ,and I'm doing it for my own
health reasons. obviously,of course, there are other people in the pool when I'm
there;sometimes you have to share a lane( 分享泳道) with another person or a couple
of people. But,basically,I'm in there, focused, on my own, concentrating on my
own swimming stroke and technique (专注我自己的划水和游泳技术)and trying to improve my
endurance and stamina( 体力和耐力 )as well.
And the reason I think this is a healthy sport... well, I think it's widely
accepted that swimming is really healthy. It's a good all-over body workout
(全身运动);it's great cardiovascular exercise (锻炼心血管的功能 ) ; it's a low-impact sport,
So you're not expected to get any inj uries as you might do if you were running
, where there's impact on the joints (对关节有影响)with swimming you don't have that.
So I think it's really good for the body, but it's also good for the mind. When
I get into the swimming pool , as soon as I hit the water it clears my
mind(—入水就能放松我的心情 );I'm focused only on one thing, which is my stroke,my
technique, the breathing-it makes you think about your breathing as well , which
is good. And I think it rejuvenates and reinvigorates( 使人变得年轻有活力) you to be in
the water. It's a really relaxing experience.
易伯华雅思君有话说:
这个话题描述你保持健康的一种方式,对我们来说就是描述一种运动方式。运动方式很多种,最简单跑步(running)个人认为这不是一个难的话题。
话题语料库:
1.Imagine an activity that increases your flexibility(灵活性), strengthens(增强)
your muscles, centers(集中) your thoughts, and relaxes and calms you. Yoga does
all that and more.
What is yoga?
Yoga is an ancient(古代的) physical and spiritual discipline(训练) and branch
(分支) of philosophy that originated in India reportedly more than 5,000 years ago.
The word yoga comes from the Sanskrit(梵语) word yuj, which means to yoke(枷锁),
join, or unite. The Iyengar school(艾扬格瑜伽学院) of yoga defines yuj as the "joining
or integrating(使完整) of all aspects of the individual - body with mind and mind
with soul - to achieve a happy, balanced and useful life." The ultimate aim of
yoga, they claim, is to reach kaivalya(emancipation or ultimate
freedom)解放和终极自由.
2.Badminton is a racquet(羽毛球) sport played using racquets to hit a

shuttlecock(羽毛球) across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the
most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and
"doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a
casual(随意的) outdoor activity in a yard(院子) or on a beach; formal games are
played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the
shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of
the court.
Badminton developed in British India from the earlier game of battledore and
shuttlecock. European play came to be dominated(由...控制) by Denmark but the game
has become very popular in Asia, with recent competition dominated by China.
Since 1992, badminton has been a Summer Olympic sport with five events: men's
singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles. At
high levels of play, the sport demands excellent fitness(良好的体能): players require
aerobic stamina(有氧耐力), agility(敏捷), strength, speed, and precision(精度). It is
also a technical sport, requiring good motor coordination(协调) and the
development of sophisticated(复杂的) racquet movements.
