independent that every time I should obey my dad with no exceptions. So I want

some change. When I graduated from high school, I thought it was the time to

make a change and to be independent. I am interested in studying arts, so when

choosing my major, I insisted to choose my own major from Arts and Humanity

Department instead of Business school, which was my dad's expectation for me. He

thought that I could find a better job in the future by studying business. He

didn't agree with me and requested me to modify the choice. Well, he is the one

who pay for my tuition fees, so I had to cave in. But I was still thinking of

changing my major, so as soon as I got admitted, I did it without telling my

father. I keep it a secret with great care for almost a year, but he finally

found out the truth by some shool paperwork. He was so furious that he cut off

my financial sources. This time i didn't want to budge an inch that i wanted to

show him I was right. So I started doing some part-time jobs to support myself.

It was a hell of time since I needed to juggle between study and work, but I

survived with assorted experience. Finally I got the outstanding graduate prize

in our province. When I dropped my certificate in his face, he smiled. Dad said

that he was always proud of me and wished I could get great progress without his

help, because he could not always be with me and help me to solve all the

problems. That was the first time he agreed with me. I'm glad that my efforts

paid off.

范文2:

Describe a time when you had a disagreement with a friend.

I have lots of friends from different backgrounds. Basically, the

conversations among us are pleasant. Occasionally, we have some disagreements

towards some issues, but I like these discussions. I enjoy sharing ideas with

friends.

Tracy and I were pretty close back in the university. We used to exchange

words on many issues. When we were in our second year, we had a fierce debate on

whether the designers should design according to customers'specific demands or

just following their heart. She was in favor of the latter because she believed

that design was a kind of art. It was about creativity and imagination. It

should reflect the designer'sindividuality. However, I believe that design is a

part of social behaviors and a product should have some specific functions to

serve customers.

Actually, both of us were one-sided. After further study, we reached an

agreement that both the customers' demands and the designers' individuality

should be considered in a design project.

Personally, it is good to have conversations like this. It makes both of us

articulate and think more thoroughly.
