Sample answers:
1.Because equipment can be a good helper for human beings while they're
working. Like some kitchen equipment, they can bring much convenience while
cooking. They can help to peel, to cut into pieces and to blender.
2.No. I do not think it is safe for children to learn to fix equipment by
themselves. There is possibilities that they may cut their finger or get
themselves hurt. If kids are interested in installing or repairing machines, it
is better to teach them how to use tools first and let them make small practices
under the instructions of parents or experienced guiders.
3.People in the past preferred to fix things rather than change for a new
one. But nowadays, people are impatient and things are changed rapidly, they
choose to buy a new one instead. My opinion is that since the technology is
developing rapidly and the updates of technological products are changing fast,
I suggest people can buy new version. And fixing is just a waste of time.
4.For example, people prefer using cars and other vehicles to go for a very
short distance as well. although people who are more aware try and walk as far
as they can to avoid use of vehicles and other appliances. this also stops
degradation of many natural resources. technology might have helped in the
progress of many countries but it has even lead to unemployment, obesity and
laziness in many areas
5.Yes, of course. As cooking is more and more convenient and time-saving than
before, people are spending less time on preparing a nice food for themselves.
They just buy some semi-finished food in the supermarkets and heat the food for
about 5 mins in the microwave. But actually this are basically not healthy and
fresh. And they don't even need dish washers anymore cause many of the food are
packed in disposable materials
6.It depends. For household appliances, people usually change for a new one
every 3-5 years. And it is mainly because of the rapid development of technology
and there are updated versions or newly-invented equipment's in the market
almost every year.
7.I use the washing machine everyday because I go to the gym and do sports
everyday, which means my clothes are full of my sweat and I need to wash them
everyday to keep them clean. I like the washing machine very much because it
only takes 15 minutes to finish washing as well as the dehydration process. It's
really fast and I don't need to wait for too much time.
8.Yes. I'm the kind of person who like solving problems and helping others.
And finding solutions to some problems can bring me the sense of achievement and
help me to train thinking ability and executive force.
9.No, absolutely not. I even having problems operating some equipment at the
first time. I usually need ask friends to teach me how to use a newly-bought
tools.
10.People in the past preferred to fix things rather than change for a new
one. But nowadays, people are impatient and things are changed rapidly, they
choose to buy a new one instead. My opinion is that since the technology is
developing rapidly and the updates of technological products are changing fast,
I suggest people can buy new version. And fixing is just a waste of time.
11.No. I do not think so. Firstly, people nowadays prefer to change for a new
one rather than fixing the broken stuff, so there is no need to students to
learn how to repair things. Secondly, it is dangerous for kids to learn fix
things sometimes, such as for fixing machines, they are likely to hurt
themselves in the process of self-practice without guidance from experience
instructors.
12.No. Like in terms of getting things repaired or just replace it for a new
one, young people and the senior hold opposite views generally. For the young,
they prefer to buy a new one rather than repairing it as they believe fixing
things is a waste of time and money. As for the old, they are more economical
and they cherish old stuff, so they usually choose to fix things rather than buy
a new one.
13.For some people who are very economical and money-saving, they feel heart
broken when giving away money for any reasons, even if they can take the product
home. However, for some people, shopping, especially the feeling of spending
money, can make them excited and happy, and they do not think they are giving
away anything, but to take something of equal value home.
14.Most of the time, people buy useless things impulsively, and they just put
it away collecting dust. And some people put the equipment online to resell it
to people who need the equipment.
15.Equipment can break down for several reasons. The most possible reason is
that it has been used for too long time that some of the components have been
worn badly or even lost their functions. Another possible reason is that the
equipment is misused by people who are not familiar with the operation, so that
some of the functions are out of order.
