大家是不是经常看到一些英语学习的推文，说;奶茶;不是;milk tea;?说的人多了也就信了是不是?

千万别犯糊涂啊，谁说的奶茶不是milk tea啊，跟我当面对峙!

milk tea

《经济学人》有一期文章专门介绍了中国的长沙，在文章开头就用长沙最火爆的茶颜悦色引入：

TO GET A cup of milk tea from Chayan Yuese in the central Chinese city of Changsha, you may have to queue for an hour in the sweltering heat.

想要在中国中部城市长沙喝一杯;茶颜悦色;奶茶，可能得顶着烈日排上一个小时的队。

这里就用了;milk tea;来指代;奶茶;。

queue 作动词，指「排队等待」，queue for sth / queue (up) to do sth 指「排队做某事」。

queue 作名词，表示「队，行列」。be / stand / wait in a queue 也表示「排队」。

swelter为形容词，表示;热得难受的;，英文释义为：extremely hot and uncomfortable，文中 the sweltering heat 指;酷热难耐的高温;。

近义词还有roasting, scorching, steaming等等，都可以替换very hot。swelter 为动词时表示;热得难受，热得发昏;，英文释义为：to feel extremely hot and uncomfortable。

举个例子：

They sweltered in temperatures rising to a hundred degrees

接近华氏100度的高温让他们感觉酷热难耐。

不知道大家喜不喜欢吃螺蛳粉，CNN之前写了一篇关于螺蛳粉的报道，将螺蛳粉称之为;汤中榴莲(durian of soup);，螺蛳粉可以直接音译为;luosifen;。

hip 作形容词，可以理解为;时髦的，时尚的;，英文释义为：following or knowing what is fashionable in clothes, music, etc，也就是fashionable的意思。

比如：

a hit film/show/song

风行一时的电影/演出/歌曲

举个例子：

The bars in the old part of the town are frequented by hip young students.

镇上老城区的酒吧是时髦的年轻学生常光顾的地方。

Her new series is a smash hit.

她的新系列节目极为成功，引起轰动。

spicy hot pot

除了奶茶、螺蛳粉，麻辣烫也是颇受当代年轻人喜爱的小吃之一，麻辣烫的英文可以表达为;spicy hot pot;。

举个例子：

Sichuan spicy hot pot in the application of pepper is denied.

川味麻辣火锅中，花椒的应用更是功不可没。

Crayfish 小龙虾

I could not believe the number of crayfish that were in this part of the river.
