The chart below shows the percentage of people using the Internet for

The bar chart illustrates various activities done by users on the internet in

an UK city in the years of 2007 and 2009.

Data of 2007 showed that the highest proportion of British people used

Internet for shopping, at approximately 45%. Banking was the second significant

activity people did online, which was followed by music (35%). On the contrary,

less than 30% of people sought jobs or studied on the website while even fewer

people played games and watched TV, of which the latter was the least vital

choice with only 18% of users doing it.

Over the next two years, a dramatic difference occurred in figures. Although

there were still the most and second most people did online shopping and managed

their property by e-banks, with the percentage rising to 52% and 42%

respectively, less people learnt online but to watch TV or play games. Besides,

almost the same proportion of them listened music and found job on the

Internet.

Overall, it can be seen that only the figures for music and learning had

declined during this period and the least number of people preferred to learning

online in 2007.
