Task：You traveled on a business trip but lost some luggage by mistake on the

train.

Write a letter to the lost property office of the train company. In your

letter:

describe the details of your trip

explain the content of the lost luggage

what you want him/her to do

Sample answer：

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to seek your assistance of finding out my luggage which was lost

when I took the train of your company.

I took the train on November 1st from Beijing to Shanghai. When I was going

to get off the train, I helped a madam lift her big suitcase down from the

luggage carrier. At that moment, the train was arriving to the station, so I

rushed to the exit, forgetting carrying my knapsack. It is a red one whose size

is 30 cm wide and 60 cm high. There are several books and some copies of a

thesis which I need for the conference on next Monday. Also my credit cards and

identity card are in it.

So I would deeply appreciate it if your office could contact attendants of

the train to check whether my lost luggage is still on the train or post a

notice on your website. My seat , train number and address are written

below.
