Early technological developments brought more benefits and changes to

people’s life than the recent technological developments. To what extent do you

agree or disagree?早期技术的发展比近期的科技发展带来了更多的利益和对人们生活的改变。你在多大程度上同意或不同意?

Throughout the history of human being, technological progress has never

stopped changing the way we live. However, whether early breakthroughs or latest

progress are more influential in daily life of individuals is under debate

today. As far as I am concerned, early technological developments are more

beneficial in terms of transforming people's life.

To begin with, the early technological advances are the cornerstones of later

ones. Supposing that if there were no steam engine train and primitive

television, magnetic railways and Liquid Crystal Display could be invented,

which greatly facilitate people's lives. Similarly, video calls cannot be made

available without the invention and popularization of the smart phone all over

the world. Therefore, the early inventions laid the foundation for modern

progressions.

Moreover, early technological innovations are revolutionary while recent

inventions are supplementary. For example, different people feel when changing

their iPhone 4 into an iPhone 5 in 2013 is in no comparison with the difference

they feel before and after having a telephone in 1973. Hence, great early

inventions, ranging from the stream engine, aircraft to computer and television,

achieve unprecedented breakthroughs in the way people live, travel and

communication. Whereas today's technological headway, featured by revised

components and updated software, remains only supplement to, rather than

replacement of the original inventions.

In conclusion, early technology has a much more significant impact on

people's life since it is not only fundamental, but also revolutionary. Thanks

to those genius scientists and inventors, people have been living in a more

convenient, comfortable and colorful life than ever before.
