Government funding for universities should only be used for scholarships for

best students. And all the other funding should come from student fee and

private organizations. To what extent do you agree or

Some people believe that all government funding should be used to award best

students, and funding from student fee and private organizations can meet budget

shortfalls of universities, but I cannot agree with this opinion.

第二段，写一下奖学金对学生的激励作用

Admittedly, using government funding to award excellent students can motivate

students. When students receive scholarships from universities, they may have a

feeling that they are also recognized by governments since those scholarships

are sponsored by the authorities. Then, these top students may be more willing

to study harder and make contributions to both their universities and society.

However, there still exist demerits if government funding is only used for

awarding top students.

第三段，说一下穷学生的囧境

To begin with, charging poor students may deprive them of the opportunity of

learning. For some poor students, the only way for them to go to universities is

to get a scholarship. However, if they do not perform well in the entrance

examination for universities, they may not receive scholarships from

governments. Then, they lose the access to universities, which actually means

that they lose an opportunity of changing their life.

第四段，说一下傲娇的private organizations

In addition, private organizations may refuse to fund universities anymore.

It is common that private organizations will set some regulations for utilizing

the funding they provide. For example, some organizations may regulate that

their money can be only used to award students with some traits, such as their

nationality or their beliefs, but not their academic performances. If

universities chooses to use such funding for other purposes, private

organizations may stop their financial support for universities in the

future.

In sum, it may not be an optimal choice for universities to allocate all

government funding to scholarships for top students and it is not wise for

universities to raise all other funding from private organizations or rely on

student fee, considering that private organizations often regulate the way money

is used and poor students may not afford the expense of tertiary education.
