Sample answer:

We all know different people have different shoppig habits. Now the question

is: are these differences in shopping habits mainly caused by the age

differences of the shoppers or other factors? My personal answer to this

4月30日雅思写作考试大作文7分范文

question is a definite "yes".

Many researchers have found that age, among other things, is the most

differentiating factor in many activities people do, including shopping. For

instance, people under 35 perfer to shop in huge supermarkets while older people

would like to buy things in traditional off-road stores. This is probably

because younger people like the greater variety of goods the supermarkets offer

and the older shoppers like the familiar environment of the small stores. In

addition, when older people may spend hours and hours looking around and

comparing different goods, young people are more likely to buy the goods they

like and immediately get back home and watch their favorite NBA games.

Furthermore, older people are generally more sensitive to the price, so they

tend to buy those less flashy and cheaper stuff. On the contrary, young people

are always attracted by the famous brands. I have a cousin who is turning on 18

this year and a big fan of Nike. His shirt is Nike, his shoes is Nike and his

backpack is Nike and indeed, he almost would have nothing but Nike! For this

habit of his, his father has to have spent a lot of money, but he does not care

that too much. This is unthinkable for an older people.

When online shopping gradually comes into our life, older people are far less

enthusiastic about it than the young. A survey shows that almost 95% of young

people are doing their shopping online, while only less than 30% of people above

40 are doing the same. When asked why they refuse to go online, many old people

respond by saying that online shopping is not safe and they would not pay unless

they have seen with their own eyes what they want to buy. Here we can see how

the different psychological status affects the shopping habits people of

different ages.

To conclude, although some shopping habits do not have much to do with the

shoppers' age --all shoppers would like to visit those stores or supermarkets

who provide the best goods and services, most shopping habits depend on the age

group the shoppers belong to. The age makes a huge difference in people's

decision about where to buy, what to buy and how to buy.
