In most countries, experienced and sophisticated politicians are assigned to be in charge of

important positions in the government. However, as more young people are

engaging in political movements, some people contend they are also ideal candidates for those positions. Admittedly,

both sides are reasonable to some extent and I would illustrate both of them

as follows.

On one hand, of course elder officials are equipped with more advantages in terms of personal

authority and abundant practical experience. As is well known, in the

government system, if a leader fails to command his

or her subordinates to execute actions, hardly can they make coordinated efforts and the working efficiency

of this department will be diminished as well. Apart from this, decisive and

feasible proposals are always put forward by

senior ministers. Take the former Prime Minster of Britain, Winston Churchill

as an example. At his twenties, he joined the army and participated in the

war that happened in Cuba, India and South Africa. It is the rich war

experience that enables him to stand on his tough

attitude to fight with Nazism, leading the British people to halt the invasion of Germany in World War Ⅱ. All these prove the fact

that it is more likely for senior ministers to obtain the trust and

support of public and they are always capable of coping with critical

situations of a nation.

On the other hand, it is undeniable that the younger generation is risky, open and has creative mode of thinking, vigorous

energy and enterprising spirit.

Besides, they dare to explore unknown, assume responsibility and have good command of cutting-edge knowledge and technology. These traits

give young administers advantages over their conservative parents when a society calls for transformation.

In conclusion, as far as I am concerned, although youngsters may push

some change through the society, they are not quite suitable for the positions with authority power for the reason

that those positions deal with complex issues and also exert immense influence on the pubic, without years

of exposure to political environment and the accumulation

of experience, it is hard for them to make contribution to the sustainable prosperity of the society.
