Jingle Bells is the very first English song I learnt. When I was still in primary school, our English teacher taught us this song because Christmas was around the corner and we were supposed to perform on Christmas Day. To be honest, as a primary school student, I could hardly understand what this song is all about. Nevertheless, the catchy melody (旋律)and the lively beat truly added a touch of happiness to the atmosphere. I still remember as clear as crystal that on that day, we were all wearing a Christmas hat and took photos with Santa Claus. Before going on stage, I had butterflies in my stomach (紧张得七上八下, was extremely nervous) and could barely move my feet, then my teacher encouraged me and said break a leg(演出成功)! After a short time of self-regulating and adaptation, I stood on my own feet again. When I began to sing I saw everyone on the seat was gazing at me and I became a bit nervous while my hand started to tremble. But I still made it through because I realized if I can’t conquer this fear I won’t be able to achieve something bigger. Thanks god my performance was remarkable and all the audience applauded for me. In that particular moment, I felt I was the most successful person in the world and I was so grateful for them by encouraging me when I was hesitated. I have to saythat the song Jingle Bell was a key to my life. It’s the combination of my childhood memory and the turning point of a timid boy to a brave man.
